While Mahesh Bhatt was quick to take the blame for the box office failure of Mr X, its leading man Emraan Hashmi has now stepped forward to say that the film’s poor showing can’t be pinned down to any one cause. “When a film does well, the entire unit celebrates together. In a scenario when a film flops, why should one person be accused for its failure?” asks Emraan, who is currently involved with his next film, Humari Adhuri Kahaani.
The actor is confident that the not-so-cool response to his last two films (Raja Natwarlal and Mr X) will not hamper the impact of HAK, in which he co-stars with Vidya Balan. “Emraan has the ability to bounce back. He doesn’t get bogged down by failure and doesn’t get carried away by his success. And that quality is his USP,” says Mahesh Bhatt. Working in tandem, the uncle-nephew duo is confident of notching a hit with HAK.
