Police: Swiss shooting suspect had been in psychiatric care
Berlin: Swiss police say a man believed to have killed four people before shooting himself last weekend was taken into psychiatric care a few weeks ago, and officers had searched his home for weapons.
Authorities believe the 36-year-old man fatally shot his brother-in-law, parents-in-law and a neighbor in the town of Wuerenlingen Saturday before killing himself.
Police in his home canton (state) of Schwyz said Tuesday authorities took his three children into care in March after receiving reports that they might be at risk.
He wasn't under investigation but they say officers searched his home for weapons as a precaution in 2012 and again on March 24, without finding anything. The man, who was of Turkish origin and a Swiss citizen since 2004, was taken to a psychiatric hospital March 24.
