Pouch with bullets found in Tambaram railway station

The police believe that somebody had specifically left behind the pouch

Chennai: A pouch containing six bullets was found in a restroom in Tambaram railway station on Sunday. According to the police, the pouch was found in the bathroom of the second class waiting room by sanitary worker Murugan.

“He saw the pouch and opened it. The pouch contained six 3.2 mm live bullets. He then handed over the pouch at the office of railway protection force,” railway police sources said. The case was later handed over to the railway police for further investigation.

The police believe that somebody had specifically left behind the pouch in the bathroom. “Nobody has come forward claiming the pouch so far. The CCTV footage shows people with bags going inside the bathroom, but we don’t know who placed the pouch in the bathroom,” the police added.
