Maruti Suzuki rolls out its 15 millionth vehicle

The company aims to achieve sales of 2 million vehicles per annum by 2020

Maruti Suzuki India Limited, celebrated its newest milestone, by becoming the only car manufacturer in India to roll out its 15 millionth car.

The 15 millionth car, a DZire VDi rolled out from the Company’s Manesar facility. The first car, a Maruti 800, had rolled out from the Gurgaon. Rajiv Gandhi, Executive Director, Production, Maruti Suzuki India Limited said, “Maruti Suzuki’s journey has been one of Kaizen and continuous improvement. Our people on the shop floor make enormous contribution so that we can offer more and better to our customers, and fulfil their needs and aspirations”.

The company’s medium term goal is to clock sales of 2 million vehicles per annum by 2020. It is expanding its product portfolio, foraying into new segments, strengthening the sales and service network and enhancing capabilities across the value chain. Models that significantly contributed to this journey include Maruti 800, Brand Alto, Wagon R, Omni and new models such as Swift and DZire.
