Pension Pura is in Stone Age!

There is also a problem of voltage fluctuations in parts of this area
Hyderabad: Most basic amenities are missing at the Pension Pura Colony of Langer House area, which has around 400 houses. The colony is home to mostly NRIs, doctors and middle class families who are now tired of approaching the authorities.
The area doesn’t have GHMC bins, as they were removed while the main road was dug up two years ago. Since then, residents have been throwing their waste in the three open plots of the colony. Despite the owners putting up boards requesting the residents of the colony not to throw garbage, it has continued as there no another option.
“I have to call up GHMC officials to remove the garbage which occupies half of the road for a major part of the day. I have made complaints, requesting the GHMC to fix the problem of bins, but they have ignored our pleas,” said Mr B. Vamsi, a resident of Pension Pura. Apart from the garbage, drainage overflows on the road; and during rains, it creates a huge mess, residents said, adding that the main road adjoining the colony was being dug up for a drainage project, but for over four days now, the contractor hasn’t turned up.
“The works are going on at a snail’s place and the authorities are giving reasons like the ‘pipe fell short of length’ and so on for the delay,” said a small-time hotelier, Mr Praveen Kumar, complaining of loss of business.
There is also a problem of voltage fluctuations in parts of this area. “The CCTV camera monitoring system in our house got spoilt because of the voltage fluctuations. When contacted, we were told by the area AE that since summer started, people in the slum near the Pension Pura Colony were drawing power illegally resulting in electricity fluctuations,” said Mr Adil Siddiqui, a resident.
