It’s party time in Telugu Desam

Party will publish Naidu’s success stories of the year

Hyderabad: With less than a month for Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to complete his first year in office on June 8, the Telugu Desam government has launched a campaign “Chandranna Vijayalu” to publicise its Vijayagadhalu (stories of victories) or successful implementation of welfare schemes.

Unperturbed by the YSRC and Congress criticism that loan waiver has not reached lakhs of farmers, the TD government has included the scheme among its achievements in its publicity campaign.

The move is aimed at countering the Opposition’s claims that the TD has failed to implement its poll promises like loan waiver for farmers and Dwcra women, besides monthly allowance to unemployed youth, to name a few.

The CM and his Cabinet colleagues have been utilising every platform, including village-side meetings, public meetings, review meetings, media conferences and press releases to publicise the “victories” of Mr Naidu in the last one year.

Mr Naidu himself has been making it a point to mention that the TD government achieved a rare feat of waiving crop loans and enhancing rice quota to the poor.

“The TD government is pro-poor and now, five kg rice will be given for every member of a family through fair price shops. If there are five members in a family, they will get five kg rice each,” he said at several meetings he addressed during his tours.

Information and public relations minister Palle Raghunath Reddy has directed the government officials to publicise the “victories” of the TD government.

“Neeru-Chettu programme has been launched to make AP drought-proof. The Pattiseema lift-irrigation project has been taken up to supply drinking and irrigation water to drought-prone Rayalaseema region,” he said.

The AP government will organise victory rallies and a victory meeting (public meeting) as part of the “victory celebrations” on June 8 in the 13 districts of the state.
