The actress will play the part of a female cop in Prakash Jha's action flick
Mumbai: The first look of Priyanka Chopra in the film ‘Gangaajal 2’ is out! The actress will be seen taking on the role of a female cop Abha Mathur, in the action flick that is being helmed by Prakash Jha.
Early this year, in January the actress confirmed reports stating that she would star as Ajay Devgn’s counterpart in the second instalment of 2003 hit movie ‘Gangaajal’. In an interview she said, “In Gangajal I'm playing cop - Ajay's female counterpart. So in this film I play a cop.”
While ‘Gangaajal’ revolved around a story of an senior police, who was transferred to an area in Bihar to fight against corruption, this second film will also have a similar undertone with Priyanka taking on some powerful and influential men in her district.
In an interview Jha was quoted as saying, “'Gangaajal 2' is about today's dictum of society-police relationship. ‘Gangaajal’ was more from the heart. This one has all the bizarre things happening around us in reality. The film is not made on a big scale and also has very less characters. It is a concentrated story."
The actress will trade in the glamorous avatar to sport the khaki uniform for the first time. She will also be seen as an FBI trainee in her international television project ‘Quantico’.
Priyanka will be seen in different avatars all through 2015, as a up-town girl on the verge of a divorce in ‘Cil Dhadakne Do’, an Indian Peshwa queen in ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and will also play the role of an ‘item dancer’ in 'Madamji'.
