Magnitude-4.5 earthquake shakes Big Island of Hawaii

Small aftershocks under magnitude-2 were recorded in the hours after

Naalehu (Hawaii): The Hawaiian Volcano Observatory says a magnitude-4.5 earthquake jolted the Big Island of Hawaii.

The observatory says the quake struck at 2:18 am (local time) on Saturday. It was centered about eight kilometers north of the small town of Naalehu at a depth of 9.6 kilometers.

There were no reports of damage or injury. People around the island reported light shaking. The observatory says light shaking isn't expected to damage buildings.
