Telangana: Kalabharati may be constructed on DBR Mills land

Hyderabad: The Telangana government, which recently decided to construct the Kalabharati at NTR stadium opposite Indira Park, is toying with the idea of moving it to the 22-acre DBR Mills land at Lower Tank Bund. The mills were closed more than two decades ago.

The government has also altered its plans to build the Secretariat at Erragadda; Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has sought Bison Polo Ground in Secunderabad from the defence ministry after the civil aviation department raised objections over constructing high-rise buildings in Erragadda near Begumpet airport.

Residents of the areas surrounding NTR Stadium are strongly opposing the Kalabharati.
