Special pujas held for Jayalalithaa

Karnataka court to declare its verdict tomorrow

Chennai: With the clock ticking away for the Karnataka high court’s verdict in the assets case against AIADMK leader Ms Jayalalithaa, party cadres were busy on Saturday organising special poojas and ‘yagams’ praying for her return as Chief Minister.“The prayers and rituals are for our Amma’s welfare and her return as CM. Prayers never fail and we will continue the homams till she is free from legal hurdles,” said a senior minister who conducted special pujas in Chennai on Saturday.

“In fact, prayers have been scheduled in all famous temples in the state for the next 48 hours,” said an HRCE department official in Tiruvallur district. At Tiruvallur, dairy development minister B. V. Ramanaa, made arrangements for special poojas at nine Vaishnav temples, including the famous Veeraraghavaswami Perumal temple, the official ad-
ded.

In Pudukottai district, health minister Vijaya Bhaskar had organised ‘Santhana Kaappu’ and 1,008 ‘villakku pooja’ for Saturday and Sunday. In Erode, environment minister Thoppu N.D. Venkatachalam conducted ‘Mahasudarsana homam’ and ‘Annadhanam.’
