Hyderabad: RTC Telangana Mazdoor Union leader Ashwathama Reddy said irrigation minister Harish Rao was honorary president of the union and supported the strike.
“We have not received the interim orders issued by the High Court on withdrawing the strike. The strike is very much on. We initiated the strike 36 days after giving notice,” he said.
However Mr Harish Rao refused to comment, stating that he was unaware of such statements. As a minister in the Telangana government, he had certain limitations while commenting on such issues.
"I am only the honorary president of TMU, not a working president. Because I am an honorary president, they might have claimed my support. But I cannot comment on such issues because as a minister in the government I have certain limitations. I don't want to get into unnecessary controversies by commenting further," Mr Rao said.
