Rahul Gandhi’s visit postponed to May 14, 15
His presence in Lok Sabha is required in view of a debate on the Land Acquisition Bill
Hyderabad: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi’s tour to the state on May 11 and 12 has been postponed to May 14 and 15 in view of the extended Lok Sabha session. This was announced by Telangana PCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy on Friday.
“Instead of May 11 and May 12, Mr Gandhi will now conduct the Rythu Bharosa Padayatra on May 14 and 15. Except the dates, there will be no change in the programme schedule,” he said.
“Mr Gandhi’s presence in Lok Sabha is required in view of a debate on the Land Acquisition Bill. Therefore, his office has intimated us about the postponement of his tour to May 14 and 15,” said Mr Reddy.
Meanwhile, accompanied by Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Telangana PCC working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and other leaders, Mr Reddy on Friday visited Nizamabad and Adilabad districts to review the arrangements for Mr Gandhi’s visit. Mr Gandhi is visiting the state to support farmers here.
