No apology to DGP, says YSRC

The party had refused to apologise as the series of incidents over several months reflect the “functioning” of the DGP

Hyderabad: The YSR Congress has objected to the remarks of the Police Officers Association on party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy following his criticism of the functioning of AP director-general of police J.V. Ramudu

YSRC spokesperson Ambati Rambabu on Thursday said the party had refused to apologise as the series of incidents over several months reflect the “functioning” of the DGP.

Mr Rambabu said, “Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy’s remarks about the DGP were a result of pent up emotions due to a series of incidents which were in favour of one side.”

He added, “What he said were bare facts and figures about the deteriorating law and order situation in Anantapur district and manner in which the police force conducted its duties.”

He recalled his experiences with Mr Ramudu during the elections and questioned the transfer of upright officers who had conducted an honest inquiry into the controversial fire incident of agriculture fields in the capital region some months ago.
