Minorities need not fear: PM Narendra Modi

PM stressed there was no place for “imaginary apprehensions”

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said in an interview to Time magazine that his government “will not tolerate or accept” any discrimination based on caste, creed and religion. This follows several controversies over BJP MPs making untoward remarks on minorities.

The PM stressed there was no place for “imaginary apprehensions” and said, in response to a question: “Wherever an individual view might have been expressed (on) a particular minority religion, we have immediately negated that... There is only one holy book of reference, that is the Constitution of India.”
