Bengaluru: Judge’s family suffers voodoo horror

The judge found a pair of Voodoo dolls kept hidden behind his flower pot

BENGALURU: It was an unusual experience for a Kormangala-based family of four members when things around them suddenly began to change. When the family used to sit and dine, strands of hair along with finger nails used to surface in the food. Thinking it was a part of negligence on their cook’s side, the family ignored it. But things didn’t stop there.

One dark night, while the family was fast asleep, loud knocks at their door at around 2 am, woke them up. When they went to check, there was no one at the door and within a fraction of a second, the lights began fluctuating and went on and off. But the family still didn’t pay any heed to it and went back to sleep.

But, to their horror, things began recurring the next day and continued for a couple of days. The family couldn’t comprehend what was going on with them until April, 18, when A A Shingoti, a retired principal civil court judge, found a pair of Voodoo dolls kept hidden behind his flower pot. Unable to understand the significance of it, the 64-year-old Judge ignored it until the family began experiencing strange things at their home again in Koramangala 8th block.

Narrating his harrowing experience, Shingoti told DC, “I am not a believer of witchcraft or black magic. But things began to change in my in my house. When we used to cook food in a clean vessel and sit to dine, a number of finger nails and hair strands used to be found in it. I ignored it thinking that it might be my wife’s negligence. But, things didn’t stop there. In fact, they got worse.”

After consulting with family and friends, Shingoti approached a spiritual healer Mohammed Nadeem on April 20, who then visited the house and told them that there was a negative energy surrounding the house and that someone had done witchcraft on them to destroy their peace. “The family had lot of negativity surrounding their house. The voodoo dolls are generally used to perform black magic or witchcraft to seek revenge. The two voodoo dolls which were kept in the premises were made of cotton. It took three days for me to cure the house and ward off the evil,” said Mohammed Nadeem, a spiritual healer.

This is not a lone case. In another incident, a BBMP tax inspector attached with Pulkeshinagar also became the victim of witchcraft and black magic, after he found out that his 20-year-old daughter, a second year B Com student, was behaving unusually and fell ill. Upon checking, the family found out that the victim’s uncle had used witchcraft on the family to get their property.
