Bengaluru: 3 rowdies held for plotting to kill notorious rowdy Brigade Azam
BENGALURU: The sleuths of the organised crime wing of the CCB have arrested three rowdies, including the son of slain rowdy Koli Fayaz, for allegedly hatching a plot to eliminate notorious rowdy Azam Khan alias Brigade Azam, who is reportedly close to some of the ministers.
The accused have been identified as Ameer Khan alias Pappu, 30, son of Koli Fayaz and a resident of Russel Market in Shivajinagar, Asif alias Mental, 31, of Saraipalya, and Roshan alias Zameer, 33, who resides near Chandini Chowk in Shivajinagar.
According to the police, they received a tip off that a gang was waiting near Army Compound on Dickenson Road to attack their rivals. They swung into action and arrested the trio, while two others, identified as Mudasir alias Muddu and Muneer, escaped. Lethal weapons were seized from the accused.
When questioned, the accused revealed that they were waiting there after they got to know that Brigade Azam will be passing by that area and they wanted to murder him and his associates, as both gangs shared old rivalry.
“Pappu is a rowdy sheeter in Shivajinagar and Commercial Street police stations and has 19 cases against him, including murder, attempt to murder, kidnap, assault and robbery cases. The other accused, Asif, has a criminal intimidation case against him in Kodigahalli police station,” the police added. Commercial Street police have registered a case.
