Rahul Gandhi will go to villages in Adilabad district
Hyderabad: Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi will go to villages in Adilabad district on May 11 and 12 to instil confidence among farmers who are facing adverse seasonal conditions and indebitness.
The itinerary was announced by TPCC president N. Uttam Kumar Reddy and working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka on Wednesday. “The government is not concerned about farmers’ plight,” the TPCC chief said.
Mr Gandhi will land at RGIA at 4 pm on May 11 and meet representatives of the OU Students Joint Action Committee before driving down to Nirmal in Adilabad district where will meet local Congress leaders and farmers.
On May 12, Mr Gandhi will start his 15-km padayatra from Padyala in Laxmanchandra mandal, and will reach Koratikal via Rachapur, Potlapalli, Laxmanchanda. He will meet families of farmers who committed suicide. Around 3 pm, he will address farmers and leave for Hyderabad.
