PCC flays land pooling policy

Mr Raghuveera Reddy said that the murders at the offices dealt a blow to the morale of employees
Anantapur: Pradesh Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy on Wednesday came down hard on the government for its decisions on new capital construction.
Talking to media persons at Madakasira Bhavan, the PCC chief questioned the land pooling scheme and asked the reason behind going ahead with land ordinance when the government itself earlier claimed that the farmers from the region are voluntarily coming forward to give their lands for the construction of capital.
Reminding that some farmers have filed a petition in the High Court against the land pooling scheme, he demanded apology from the government over the acquisition of lands from farmers without their consent. He also demanded the state government to mount pressure on the Centre to get a special status before conclusion of the Lok Sabha session.
The PCC chief said that the Congress would intensify its agitation against the government till it gets a special tag to Andhra Pradesh.
He also asked the government to give 43 per cent fitment hike to the RTC employees and address their genuine demands. He demanded judicial probe into the political murders which took place in the district recently. Mr Raghuveera Reddy said that the murders at the offices dealt a blow to the morale of employees, who are now afraid to come down to offices.
