Twins born at station may be moved to shelter
Hyderabad: The twins born to Manasa, an orphan who gave birth at the Kacheguda railway station on Sunday, have been shifted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Gandhi Hospital.
“I have been living in this city for nine years now,” said Manasa. She says she is an orphan from Mahbubnagar district and claims that she has been living in Malakpet since she came to the city. The doctors have said that the woman has no psychological problems.
The Civil Surgeon Administrator Dr Prameela said, “The condition of the mother is better now and can be said to be normal. The newborns have low birth weight, so they have been shifted to the NICU.”
Once the newborns are declared fit for discharge, the hospital will arrange for placing them in the destitute home.
