Row over Kadiam Srihari, N Chandrababu Naidu meeting

Mr Naidu reportedly promised all support to the Telangana delegation

Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari who also holds the education portfolio raised eyebrows when he called on AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu here on Tuesday.

Mr Srihari later said that he met Mr Naidu to seek his help in reviving the closed AP Rayon’s Factory and seek AP government’s help in getting raw material.

“I met Mr Naidu to request him to help the state in the reopening of AP Rayons factory which was closed due to non-supply of raw materials. There are plenty of raw materials in AP. We requested him to ensure raw material to the factory,” Mr Srihari said.

AP Rayons Factory, also known as Ballarpur Industries Limited (BILT), is a subsidiary of Thapar Group established in 1975 at Mangapet.

It is the first industry in the district on the banks of River Godavari which uses eucalyptus as raw material to produce rayon grade pulp.

Mr Naidu reportedly promised all support to the Telangana delegation, according to Mr Srihari and TRS MP Sitaram Naik. He was accompanied by several elected representatives from Warangal district including Chandulal, MLA, Garikapati Ramamohan Rao and others.
