Join the Mission: Harish Rao to farmers
Work on 4,300 tanks began in Telangana
NIZAMABAD: Minister for major irrigation, marketing T. Harish Rao said that farmers should take part in the Mission Kakatiya works to bring past glory to water tanks. He said that work on 4,300 water tank began across Telangana state.
The minister took part in Mission Kakatiya works in Banswada Assembly constituency limits on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that water tank work is going on successfully in the state. He said that Opposition parties are deliberately defaming the Mission Kakatiya as they are unable to digest the success of the programme.
Mr Harish Rao said that Nizamsagar project will be developed as tourism centre and necessary funds will be released soon. He said that funds will be released for Singitham reservoir, which is supplementing the canal of Nizamsagar project. He assured that godowns will be constructed in Jukkal Assembly constituency limits with marketing department funds.
Minister for agriculture Pocharam Srinivas Reddy also interacted with the farmers. He explained the problems being faced by the farmers while utilising existing water sources from Bodhan. Irrigation, agriculture, marketing department officials were present.
