EO warns of tough action against proselytism
Temple will be opened from 4 am to 10 pm on Fridays and Sundays, says EO
VIJAYAWADA: The Kanakadurga temple, Sri Mallikarjuna Swamy temple and sub temples on the temple premises will be opened from 4 am to 10 pm on Friday and Sundays hereafter, said the EO Ch. Narsinga Rao on Tuesday. However, on these two da-ys there will be no Antar-alaya darshan between 10 am and 1 pm due to heavy rush. Even the vehicles will also be not allowed on the ghat road on these days for some hours when there is heavy rush.
The EO announced that before May 15, all the temp-le employees, deputation staff, NMRs and daily wage labourers should submit affidavits in his office stating that they are Hindus. The non-Hindus will be removed after the deadline. Even the staff working in the stalls on the temple premises and under the contractors of the temple should not indulge themselves in any acts of the Proselytism.
If proselytism is found on the temple premises, sub temples, adopted temp-les or in the properties that belong to the Kanakadurga temple, action will be initiated against the concerned staff as well as their immediate superiors.
Such staff will be handed over to the police and the matter should be brought to the notice of the EO. He also issued instructio-ns for the payment of salaries to the staff and contract labourers on 1 or 2 of every month.
VIP honours must be accorded only to the eligible dignitaries. All the staff including the priests must behave decently with the devotees. They also must follow punctuality and keep themselves away from any acts that would affect the reputation of the temple. Unauthorised priests and staff should be thrown away from the temple, the EO ordered.
