Bollywood celebrities make way to Salman's residence after verdict
Mumbai: A Mumbai sessions judge found Bollywood superstar Salman Khan guilty Wednesday of killing a homeless man in a 2002 hit-and-run after a night out drinking and sentenced him to five years in jail. In a breather to actor, the Bombay High Court on Wednesday granted interim bail to him till May 8. Salman was teary eyed when the judgement pronounced the verdict and stood silently in the dock. He stood expressionless, with his head tilted once the sentence was pronounced.
The entire Khan family broke down when the verdict was announced. Several celebrities close to the actor rushed to his residence to offer support to his family. Preity Zinta, Sonakshi Sinha, and Salman's former lover, Sangeeta Bijlani were seen making their way to his house. Prem Chopra, Maliaka Arora Khan and Sunil Shetty were snapped outside his residence later in the day.

While Salman's fans were staunchly defending him, citing his many humanitarian efforts and good work, they were at the receiving end of others' wrath, who said that the law should take its own course irrespective of the profile of the convict.
