Pratap Pothen thrashes KM Mani, says hand over job to son
Kochi: Veteran actor Pratap Pothen has raised serious allegations against finance minister K. M. Mani and asked him to quit politics.
Mocking Mr Mani that he deserves a Bharat Ratna in a Facebook post, he says he has sent his brother to jail and his father used to finance him.
Pratap Pothen, known for being outspoken in the social media, went on to add that it is time for Mr Mani to step aside and hand it over to his son who knows the knack of making money. “He is a fox who sent Balakrishna Pillai to jail,” he said in his post.
According to him, Mr Mani has forgotten from where he came from and what he was. “You are 80 dude give it to ur son now who is as great as you. He knows the knack of making money. I hope u remember the jeep you travelled in when u first stood for elections and who gave you the money. I wish u do. At 80 it’s difficult to remember but with the 13 budgets you presented you made Kerala gods’ own country. May all the gods bless you for you are the greatest. Remember how you removed K.M George, the founder. you deserve a Bharat Ratna,” his Facebook post reads.
Some followers of the actor pointed out that his post is pure personal vendetta. He however countered them saying his father was a founder member of the Kerala Congress and his family financed Mr Mani.
According to him, Mr Mani was not rich when he started his political career. He also asks “how did he become wealthy”. Amidst his busy schedule, he found time to reply to his followers who welcomed his post. In one such reply he said, “One needn’t be in politics to be politically... Kerala is the state I was born in. My family had contributed to Kerala politics. I have a right to voice my opinions. The day we keep mum we are apathetic to what happens and all I said was that he deserves a Bharat Ratna.”
