No fund crunch: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam chairman
Annaprasadam is being offered to not less than 50,000 pilgrims
Tirupati: Among the series of charitable activities taken up by TTD for the sake of multitude of visiting pilgrims, Annaprasadam is considered to be one of the best charitable activities in the world, said TTD Trust Board chairman, Dr Ch. Krishnamurthy.
The TTD board chief had lunch along with common pilgrims in Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex in Tirumala on Monday. During his interaction with the pilgrims, they expressed immense satisfaction about the free food that is being served as Annaprasadam here every day to not less than 60,000 pilgrims.
Later addressing media persons, the chairman said, TTD has started Annaprasadam about three decades ago and today it has become a massive charitable activity serving lakhs of pilgrims who throng the hill town for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara in a year.
“On any given day, the Annaprasadam is being offered to not less than 50,000 pilgrims without compromising on its quality and quantity. The menu is very tasty and is prepared in a hygienic environment,” he added.
