I water plants with urine for them to grow better, says Nitin Gadkari
Mumbai: Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has a secret behind his sprawling garden at his Delhi bungalow. Interestingly, he let it out.
Speaking at an event in Nagpur, Gadkari said that he waters plants using his own urine that he collects in a 50-litre can.
The minister said that urine acts as a ‘free homemade fertiliser’ that helps plants grow.
“I instructed the gardener to water some plants with it. There was a clear difference – it grew one-and-a-half times bigger than the other plants," he said.
The comments had everyone in splits at the event.
With a smile on his face, Gadkari told the audience how exactly he collected the urine.
“I stored the urine in a small plastic can everyday and then collected it in the bigger 50-litre can,” he said.
"This is free homemade fertiliser. I'm only telling you about urine and not going further than that," he added.
He also said that he had several plants and trees on an acre of land within the premises of his bungalow in New Delhi.
Meanwhile, his comments tickled social media, leading to funny comments and tweets.
