Arousal, desire are main 'predictors' in women's sexual health
Sexual satisfaction and functioning in postmenopausal women can be improved
Washington: A new study has found that women's sexual functioning gets moderately stable over time, and that arousal and desire are the main predictors of sexual functioning and satisfaction.
The study examined 178 pre and 329 post menopausal women and explained that despite the potentially impairing effects of menopause and menopausal transition, sexual satisfaction and functioning in postmenopausal women can be improved and sexual problems can show spontaneous remission.
Dr. Andrea Burri, lead author of the study said that clinically improvement of a woman's sexual health was possible even at a later stage and despite the presence of biological impairments.
The study is published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine.
