Vikramjeet is a comic villain
Vikramjeet Virk, the new baddie in Tollywood, is happy about his upcoming film Sher. “I am playing a comic villain,” he says. The hero is Nandamuri Kalyanram in this film.
“It’s a situational comedy, not a full-time one. It was a very different role for me and I am eagerly waiting for the film,” adds the actor, praising director Mallikarjun and lead actor Kalyanram for their support.
After making his Tollywood debut with Puri Jagannath’s Heart Attack, Vikramjeet is now playing a villain again in this film. “Director Mallikarjun has worked with Puri Jagannath sir, so I know him very well. It’s like working with Puri sir,” he says.
When asked about imports from Bollywood being criticised because they do not know the language, and thus can’t emote properly, he says, “We have a communication gap and sometimes we don’t properly understand. And that’s the reason why we can’t deliver at times.”
“After the make-up is over, I immediately go the assistant director and get my scene and dialogues. I write it in English or Hindi and start practicing. Apart from this, I keenly follow the scene and situation and the meaning of the dialogues,” says the actor, adding that he is slowly coming to grips with the language. “Yes, I am learning fast. In some time I will be able to speak the language fluently,” he says.
The actor adds that he is focusing more on Tollywood now. “Everything here is done professionally. If the director wants to start shooting at 7 in the morning, everybody is on the sets before time and things don’t get delayed,” he says.
