Gamers from Chennai and Delhi participate in India Qualifiers Cup tournament for Mortal Kombat X
E-xpress interactive, in association with Warner Bros Interactive Games, announced a new gaming tournament for Mortal Kombat X held on May 2 and May 3, 2015.
Gamers from Chennai, Delhi, Gwalior, Jaipur and Mumbai received a hands-on experience on Mortal Kombat X gameplay.
Mortal Kombat X, is basically a game franchise developed by NetherRealm studios and published by Warner Bros Interactive Games, which is also marketed and distributed by e-xpress Interactive in India. 64 matches were played on Day 1, out of which 32 players qualified to play on the Day 2.
“We want to create a platform for professional gamers who see gaming as another sport. The skills used by each player are drawn from the real world gaming and needs a lot of practice," said Amit Khemani, Managing Director, e-xpress Interactive Games India.
Abhinav Tejan an e-sport player from Delhi, won the match of Mortal Kombat X, against his opponent Shiva, professional e-sport player from Chennai.
Abhinav Tejan has been offered a cash price of Rs 20,000, Mortal Kombat X Championship Belt along with the gaming monitor from BenQ and a chance to participate at the Paris finals.Speaking on his victory he said, “I feel very lucky today that I got a chance to be here at this tournament. E-sports are catapulted to the level of mainstream sports and I hope more and more events like these should be held for gamers like us,” said Abhinavtejan, the winner Of Mortal Kombat X India Qualifiers.
