Speeding car mows down 2-year-old boy
Hyderabad: A two-and-a-half-year-old boy was killed by a rashly driven car while he was playing in front of his house on Sunday. The car knocked him down and the victim suffered serious injuries on the head and other body parts. The incident occurred in the Srirama Hills Colony in L.B. Nagar.
The victim, identified as R. Surya, was the son of Parvathalu, a PET teacher at the Nagarjuna Montessori School.
Police said the mishap occurred at around 11:30 am while Surya was playing in front of his house. A Hyundai i20 car driven by one K. Vishnu Vardhan passed through the lane and hit Surya.
“The driver failed to see him. Surya fell down on the road. He was taken to Kamineni Hospitals where he died," said SI Kashinath.
Based on a complaint a case of negligence was booked against Vishnu Vardhan. Cops said a manhunt is on to nab him. The victim's body was shifted to Osmania General Hospital for post-mortem.
