Moga molestation: AAP seeks registration of case against Deputy CM
Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party on Monday moved the Punjab and Haryana High court here seeking registration of a case against deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in connection with recent molestation and death of a girl in Moga.
The Deputy chief minister is also the home minister and so it is important that the case be monitored by the High Court, "so that the streams of justice remain clean and not be polluted due to any influence," the petition said.
A judicial investigation be ordered as neither CBI nor the state police would do an impartial probe, it said.
The petition alleged that the victims' family is being pressurised by the police to compromise and in the interest of justice, the family should be given para military protection.
The Deputy Chief Minister should be booked under same law as was the owner of the December-2012 Delhi gangrape bus case, the petition said.
The bus in which the incident took place belongs to Orbit Aviation, the company owned by relatives of Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal.
The petition was filed by counsels R S Bains and Utsav Singh Bains.
Aam Admi Party wants justice for the victim and her mother, who fights for her life at the hospital, the petition said.
The girl was pushed off a moving bus last week along with her mother after they resisted molestation attempts.
