Bipasha Basu's Hollywood film 'The Lovers' will not be released in theaters
Mumbai: Roland Joffe’s ‘Singularity’ now titled ‘The Lovers’ was touted to be Bipasha Basu’s first international project with Abhay Deol. Sadly, the film won't hit the screens anytime soon. After several delays, recasting and re-shooting, the celebrated British director’s film will sadly be released only on DVD. This treatment is reserved for the films Hollywood loses faith in.
The critics who have watched the film are extremely unhappy and have given downright nasty reviews. It was difficult to believe that the film was written and directed by Roland, who is responsible for the realistic best-picture Oscar nominee film ‘The Killing Fields’. The last time when Roland was in India, he carved out a nugget called ‘The City Of Joy’ with Om Puri, Shabana Azmi and Patrick Swayze, which was well received by the masses.
