Tata Motors likely to launch GenX Nano today
Mumbai: Tata Motors will unveil its new GenX Nano car, which is expected to carry 'cheapest car' tag. Tata GenX Nano sports power steering, openable boot, automatic transmission for city driving and also providing a bigger fuel tank of 24 litres as compared to just 15 looters in the previous version.
Tata GenX Nano also sports the new smiley bumpers with interesting ‘infinity motifs’. Its dashboard will remain unchanged but the new Tata signature steering wheel goes a long way in rendering a fresh appeal. The front seats with integrated head restrains are also retained
"We had to add these features so as to make it a smart city car. It is a very very critical intervention for the Nano. We have made significant changes and improvement in the perceived quality of the car," said Wagh, the engineer who led the development of Nano. The company had refreshed the Nano in 2012 and last year with Nano Twist, he said, adding "after that in terms of content this is the biggest intervention we have made". While exuding confidence that the GenX Nano will spur sales, he said initial immediate sales volumes will be as important as creating a "perception change" about the product and the company.
Media reports state that the Tata GenX Nano will likely be priced below Rs 3 lakh in the Indian market.
