After cow deaths, row over footage

The footage shows 10 unknown persons entering the goshala and feeding suspicious items to cows
Vijayawada: The row over deaths of 17 cows at the goshala in One Town touched a new low on Saturday with the goshala manager allegedly leaking CCTV footage to a section of the media in order to save herself from being solely blamed for the incident.
The footage shows 10 unknown persons entering the goshala and feeding suspicious items to cows the night before the incident took place.
Manager Ms Lavanya claimed that she was unaware of the entry of the persons into the cowshed that houses nearly 300 cows.
Cops who investigated the issue, however, found that the persons, who had entered the cowshed, were actually staffers who were feeding sesame oil to the cows that were suffering from indigestion.
Sesame oil is a medically approved treatment for animal indigestion.
“There are seven male and six female workers in the goshala, besides the manager and watchman Venkateswara Rao. When they came to know that many cows had fallen sick, they rushed to the goshala and tried to give sesame oil to the cows. Some of them jumped over the wall to get to the cowshed as there was a delay in opening the main lock. The animals were given sesame oil following the instructions of veterinary doctor Bhargav and Ms Lavanya was aware of it,” One-Town inspector P. Narasimhulu said.
He said the manager might have leaked the footage to confuse others. “We have shown the footage to the manager and she identified all the persons in the footage as workers of the goshala,” he said.
