KCR would have been a shepherd sans Telugu Desam, says N Chandrababu Naidu
KAKINADA: Pointing out that it was the Telugu Desam that had given Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao a breakthrough in politics, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said it was high time that Mr Rao exercises patience and refrained from criticising the Telugu Desam.
“KCR was given a chance by TD founder N.T. Rama Rao. He learnt all about politics while in the TD and now he is abusing it. If the TD had not given him a political life, KCR would have been tending cattle in Siddipet,” Mr Naidu said here on Friday.
He was responding to a question by the media on Mr Rao’s reported comments that he was clinging to Hyderabad, even though he had been given marching orders. “AP’s bifurcation was done under unfortunate circumstances. My government is willing to work out these problems amicably with the Telangana government, but KCR is adamant,” Mr Naidu said.
Mr Naidu alleged that KCR was unable to digest the fact that the TD was strong in Telangana. “The TD will work for the welfare of the Telugu people in both AP and Telangana. KCR's divisive politics would be defeated,” he said.
Mr Naidu said that nearly 20,000 employees were willing to leave Hyderabad for Amaravati, the new capital, but it has no infrastructure. All states, including Telangana, have a capital city, but AP does not have any place for employees to work from, he said.
Mr Naidu said that the master plan for the new capital was being prepared by the Singapore government and it would be ready June 2. A world-class capital would be developed for Andhra Pradesh and it would go on to become the No. 1 city in the country, he said. “The UPA government had unscientifically divided the state. I will make it a beautiful state,” he said.
Naidu must apologise to Yadavs, says Harish
Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao on Friday lashed out at Chief Minister Naidu for making derogatory remarks against the Yadav community and demanded an unconditional apology for his “casteist remarks.”
Responding to Mr Naidu’s remarks that KCR would have been a shepherd in Siddipet if TD had not given him a political break, Mr Harish said, “His remarks amount to insulting the Yadav community. He should withdraw his remarks and tender an apology.” Mr Harish also came down heavily on Mr Naidu for making a “political speech” at the May Day programme.

Stating that K.Chandrasekhar Rao was senior than Mr Naidu in TDP, Mr Rao said, "KCR came from an agriculture family. He donated his big house to set up a government school in his village in Medak. On the other hand, Naidu came from a family which owned only 2 acres but everyone knows how much wealth he has amassed now after becoming CM."
