Tattoos impact heart rate sensor performance of ‘Watch’: Apple
Users of Apple Watch posted a series of complaints on social media

After the recent scratch-gate issue, a new tattoo-gate issue on Apple Watch has surfaced. Users of Apple Watch posted a series of complaints on social media regarding the unfriendly approach towards the tattooed wrist. Wearing the Apple Watch on a tattooed wrist forces its user to feed in the security PIN, time and again.
Apple has also admitted that its Watch isn’t friendly with any tattooed area. The company has released an official note stating, ‘Permanent or temporary changes to your skin, such as some tattoos, can also impact heart rate sensor performance. The ink, pattern, and saturation of some tattoos can block light from the sensor, making it difficult to get reliable readings.’

To lessen the disappointment of Apple fans, the company has suggested that one can connect the Apple Watch wirelessly to external heart rate monitors such as Bluetooth chest straps.
