Nepal quake hits Rock flick
Johnson plays the role of a helicopter pilot.
Hollywood movie giant Warner Bros. has revealed that, following the Nepal earthquake, it’s now re-thinking the promotional strategy for an upcoming disaster movie starring Dwayne Johnson.
San Andreas, starring the former WWE wrestler, is named after the ticking San Andreas fault line which triggers a massive 9.0 quake in California. Johnson plays the role of a helicopter pilot.
A spokesperson for Warner Brothers said the studio wants to make sure “it’s sensitive to people affected by the tragedy, which, as of Friday, has claimed over 6,000 lives.
San Andreas, directed by Brad Peyton also stars Carla Gugino, Alexandra Daddario, Ioan Gruffudd, Archie Panjabi, Hugo Johnstone-Burt, Art Parkinson and Paul Giamatti.
It’s set for a May release.
