Film passed, trailer banned
Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is faced with a rather unique situation. For the first time in the body’s history, it has certified a film, but not the trailer. The board has certified an adult film titled Sabki Bajegi Band directed by Anirudh Chawla, supposedly riddled with double entendres and sexual innuendos, but the trailer for the same has been withheld because of objectionable content.
Said a source from CFBC, “This is a film that we would have never passed. But the previous CBFC team passed it many months ago. When the trailer came to us, we refused to do so. So this is the first time that a film has been passed, while the trailer hasn’t been passed.”
CBFC chairperson Pahlaj Nihalani said, “We want to clarify that whatever the content of SBB, we in no way approve of it. We did not certify this film. The trailer came to us and we found it unfit for certification.”
