WhatsApp-based health app launched
The minister said every medical officer will track the health condition of the pregnant women
ADILABAD: Minister for health C. Laxmareddy, on Wednesday, launched WhatsApp-based health application, e- doctor, for monitoring health services to reduce the maternal mortality rate (MMR) and infant mortality rate ( IMR) and to encourage institutional deliveries in remote villages in Agency areas in Adilabad district.
He was addressing a public meeting at Asifabad after setting stone for a 50-bedded hospital building estimated to cost Rs 8 crore. The minister said every medical officer will track the health condition of the pregnant women and just born babies and of other people under the PHC limits. He will have their photographs, information of their field work on a regular basis along with their mobiles and he will transfer the pictures on WhatsApp to the project officer of the ITDA, collectorate and the district medical and health officer (DMHO).
Then the information will be uploaded to the website created for the purpose. The minister claimed that the health application was the first of its kind developed by the ITDA, Utnoor, and that it will be extended to other areas in the state.
Mr Laxma Reddy said every PHC will be upgraded as 50-bedded one, hospitals in Assembly constituency headquarters as 100-bedded ones and hospital in the district headquarters to 1,000-bedded facilities in the state.
He said that one 1,000-bedded hospital each would be would be constructed in the east and west regions of the district. Earlier, the minister inaugurated a new hospital building in Nirmal and inspected RIMS in Adilabad. Minister for endowments Allola Indrakaran Reddy, Parliamentary secretary Kova Laxmi and local MLAs were also present.
