Telangana to list areas of real estate fraud

Govt. has imposed a ban on all land registrations & land conversions in Yadadri limits

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has decided to make a list of areas prone to real estate frauds in districts neighbouring Hyderabad. After Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao announced mega projects like the development of the Yadadri temple, Pharma City, Cinema City and so on in neighbouring districts, illegal layouts have come up in these areas to cash in on the realty boom and cheat gullible people.

The government on Tuesday suspended Yadadri tahsildar B. Somla Nayak, deputy tashildar Vijay Kumar and senior assistant Nagaraju for colluding with realtors to grab government land and make layouts.

The government owns 255 acre of land in Mallapur village in Yadagirigutta mandal which was surrendered to it in 1977 under the Land Ceiling Act. Revenue officials, in nexus with some realtors, started giving rights of these lands to some private individuals by taking shelter under the Record of Rights Act, though the government has imposed a ban on all land registrations and land conversions within the Yadadri limits.

Nalgonda district collector P. Satyanarayan Reddy said an inquiry was ordered following the complaints and three officials were suspended.
