Chennai: Eight months after they went absconding in a cheating case, police arrested a budding film actor and two of his brothers near Kasimedu on Wednesday. The budding actor, Niranjan, cheated a youth Deepak Saravanan of Kasimedu of Rs1 lakh after promising him a chance in movies. The accused initially took Rs 2 lakh and returned half of it as he couldn’t keep his word.
However, when Deepak approached him in September 2014 to give the remaining amount, Niranjan and his brothers, Lenin and Karthik assaulted him and fled. On Wednesday, they were arrested after they returned to their neighbourhood, police said.
