5 air-purifying house plants to grow

House plants that purify, filter, and cleanse our air of toxins can be very easy to grow and care for
1. English Ivy: These evergreen branches of beauties flower beautiful and dainty yellow petals for most of the year, from the end of summer to the end of autumn. The strong plant grows vigorously, and caring for it is easier than pronouncing it’s biological name! The ‘Ivy’s thrive best indoors in cool and moist conditions. Some sunlight, or light in general, is mandatory too as it’ll help the leaves keep their gorgeous colour. While the plant ameliorates the quality of air at home and spreads a sense of ease, it is quite poisonous; place it on a ledge beyond the toddler height, and make sure you’re wearing gloves while tending to them!

2. Peace Lily: While Spathiphyllum, the plant’s genus, may be slightly frustrating to say, taking care of this pearl-esque flower is anything but! They too require cool and moist conditions to grow copiously. These pure and tranquill beauties bloom through out the year and produce the largest amount of flowers in summer. Even though their flowers are absolutely gorgeous, white as can be, and incredibly heart-warming, it’s scientific abilities overtake its aesthetic advantages by a mile! These ‘Snow-White’s control the level of formaldehyde, benzene, and carbon monoxide in the indoor air, which leads to a happier, healthier, and more carefree household! So, go on and make your house a more heavenly place!

3. Snake plant: While the name probably made you flinch a little, the plant definitely won’t! While they don’t house the most beautiful array of flowers, these strong and sturdy leaves are an opportunity you don’t want to miss out on! The snake plant belongs in the bathroom so that it can add a burst of colour, as its leaves are of the brightest green, and aroma, as it absorbs and filters all the formaldehyde out, which is a common ingredient for cleaners. Barely does it require any sunlight, and a little humidity goes a long way. So, stop by the farmer’s market and pick up one of these bad boys, or rather, ‘reptiles’, as they’re fresh, easy, and perfect!

4. Bonsai: These breath-taking flower-birthing plants are available in large variety, directly catering to your botanical needs. The riots of colours need to kept outdoors, and so look absolutely stunning by your windowsill. When they’re dormant in winter, the trees prepare themselves for the coming year and for the bloom season. Bonsai do require lots of light, fertilizers and water, a decent amount of humidity, and relatively high temperatures throughout the year. I can hear all of you sighing of frustration at the sight of the slightly tedious demands of the flower, but they’re definitely worth it. When you open your eyes one spring morning to these yellow, red, and pink clumps, you’re entire day will be made. You’ll begin caring for these delicate darlings so much, and the whole experience is nothing if not touching!
