Hyderabad: Seven members of a family, including four young women, drowned in a lake in Mahbubnagar district of Telangana this afternoon, police said.
The incident occurred at around 1 pm when the seven persons, all belonging to Falaknuma area here had gone to Mahbubnagar and entered the lake at Mudvin village under Amangal police station limits, they said.
"All the seven bodies have been recovered. The deceased were between the age group of 18 and 40," DSP (Shadnagar Sub-Division) Kalmeshwar told PTI over phone, adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem.
"They entered the water and it seems all of them got caught in a deep trench," the DSP said based on preliminary investigation. Further investigation is on.
