MNS workers thrash hawkers, claim they were operating stalls illegally

The MNS workers claimed the hawkers were from North India

Mumbai: Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) workers thrashed hawkers from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar claiming they were operating stalls illegally. The hooliganism took place in the Mumbai suburb of Jogeshwari.

Around 15 men MNS workers vandalised the stalls and handcarts and threatened that they will not allow non-marathi workers to operate illegally in Mumbai.

Four people who had been accused were booked for allegedly intimidating vendors in suburban Jogeshwari, police said.
