Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma headed over to the sets of 'Indian's Got Talent' to meet their friend and co-star Karan Johar as they promoted their upcoming film 'Bombay Velvet'. Photo: Viral Bhayani- It is time to mark those calendars and wait patiently for May 15, when the film hits screens nation wide.
- It stars Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar in lead roles with Kay Kay Menon, Manish Choudhary, Vivaan Shah and Siddharth Basu.
- Set in Bombay of the 1960s, the film tells the story of a boxer, Johnny Balraj, and an aspiring jazz singer, Rosie, and how their hopes and dreams collide with their individual realities.
- The film ran into a little legal trouble because the word 'Bombay' was used in its title. However the makers managed work their way around the censor board and keep the title unchanged.
- Bombay Velvet is directed and co-produced by Anurag Kashyap, based on historian Gyan Prakash's book Mumbai Fables.
- The film that took 80 crores in the making, is leaving no stone un-turned to make sure they have the biggest opening at the box office, especially after a dry first half in Bollywood.
- After missing the first few promotional events, Anushka too has joined in the brigade that shows no sign of slowing down.
- Ranbir Kapoor, who shied away from promoting his previous film 'Roy', has now taken centre stage and has even been taking on those 'marriage' questions in his stride.
- The series of videos and appearances by the stars on television shows and radio channels have added to all the hype and excitement for the film.
- The makers have released two songs and two trailers, that have been received well by all Ranbir Kapooor and Anushka Sharma fans.
- With just two weeks until the film's big release, the stars have been running all around town promoting their film.
