Sonu Nigam banned by leading media channel for supporting AAP?
Mumbai: Popular singer Sonu Nigam had to face the wrath of a media channel after he tweeted in support of AAP leader Kumar Vishwas.
Sonu Nigam defended Vishwas in a tweet after the network aired a video of the politician allegedly commenting on a farmer's suicide. The reported media channel had later shown a footage where moments after the incident, Vishwas was seen saying off the mic 'latak gaya?'.
Nigam on his part tweeted out a video, which gave another perspective to the issue, which gives the poet turned politician a clean chit. This irked the media network and Zee will reportedly replace Nigam with another singer in upcoming films.
However, the media network has not officially released a statement announcing a ban on Nigam, but if the singer's declaration is anything to go by, the company has taken his criticism of its news channel very seriously.
Here are the tweets from the singer:
I am far from politics but I feel this truth should come out for the sake of my poet friend Kumar Vishwas. https://t.co/E4QWJrgg6c

Wonder should it not be illegal to ban someone on the pretext of nothing in a democracy? Influencing others to not work with an individual.

Well legal or illegal, one thing's for sure. Banning someone, is definitely unGodly.
