Fourteen Telugu tourists stranded in Nepal were rescued and brought to Delhi

Hyderabad: Fourteen Telugu tourists stranded in Nepal were rescued and brought to Delhi till Monday, while 300 more Telugu people are stranded in Kathmandu and surrounding areas.
Most of the rescued people are from Kadapa district, Visakhapatnam and districts of Telangana. The Kadapa and Telangana natives reached Chennai and Hyderabad airports on Monday night, officials said. A group will also fly to Vizag on Tuesday morning.
Meanwhile, the 60 students who reached Gorakhpur by road were provided refreshments and a special coach in Gorakhpur-Yesvantpur Express is booked to send them to their respective places in AP, officials said.
Officials said that many people are stuck at the Kathmandu airport since thousands of Indians are waiting for IAF flights to pick them up. The helpline officials of Telangana and AP said that they have received more calls from the stranded Telugu people on Monday. “We have informed the rescue forces, and the efforts to bring them back are on,” T. Suryanarayana, a senior official from AP Bhavan, Delhi said.

Neilima Pudota, an employee of Cognizant Technology Services who was missing since Sunday after the earthquake in Nepal, is safe. Her hiking companion informed her family members with the help of a foreign national’s satellite phone. The group is now coming down canceling further hiking, and would reach a village, where mobile phone networks will be available, officials from WeRamblers adventure club said.
Neilima’s parents, who were extremely worried, breathed a sigh of relief on Monday. “We got information from the club officials that she and her fellow hikers are safe,” said her father.
