When Ram Gopal Varma’s Shiva had released, Munna Kasi was a kid. He says he became a big fan of RGV and music director Ilayaraja when he finally saw the film after completing his schooling.
At that time Kasi’s aim was to study and settle down in a job. Hailing from Narsipatnam near Visakhapatnam, Kasi completed his graduation and then completed his MBA, as a gold medalist, in 2009 and left to Dubai for a job.
But he wasn’t happy and wanted to make music. An accomplished keyboard player, he began giving live music for plays in Andhra University. But Shiva’s impact was still alive. “I always wanted to work with RGV.”
He started composing music for a serial’s title song following which he got the first opportunity to work in films with Mr 7. “After seeing the film, producer Anil Sunkara gave me an opportunity in his film Action 3D,” adds Kasi.
His career reached its crescendo when RGV finally called him for Spot. He got two more opportunities in Sridevi and Attack. “It was a dream come true! And I hope to work with him again,” he says....
