Body found stuck in tree at Sanathnagar
Police yet to establish ID of dead man
Hyderabad: The residents of Lodha Apartments and the locals of Sanathnagar saw a strange scene on Sunday morning. The body of a 55-year-old man was trapped in the branches of a tree on the main road. The police, who took the body down found that its neck had got entangled in the cables passing through the tree.
The police is yet to identify the man and why he climbed the tree. They suspect the victim to be a homeless person. According to K. Nagaiah, a street vendor, one of the locals, who saw the body on the tree thought that the person was alive but could not come down since his body was trapped. However, when the police brought down the body, they realised that the man was dead.
“In the morning, I saw a group of people looking up at the tree and I saw a man wearing shabby clothes trapped among its branches. Thinking that he is alive, some locals attempted to rescue him but it turned out that he was not breathing,” Nagaiah said.
The locals told the police that they have seen the man roaming in the area but no one knows who he was. “Locals said the man used to sleep on the footpath often but his identity is not known,” said sub-inspector B. Saidulu.
The police suspects that the man would have climbed the tree after getting drunk and must have fallen down from a top branch to a lower one. “There are no major injuries on his body but there were cables wrapped around his upper body,” the sub-inspector said. The body was sent for postmortem examination to ascertain the cause of death.
