Social media has probably become the fastest way to communicate even during the time of emergencies. On the same lines, Facebook has introduced Nepal earthquake safety check page to check if your friends / loved ones are safe if they are living or present in the affected areas.

It may be unlikely that Internet or communication services would be fully functional in badly affected places but just in case if you come to know that your friend (on facebook) is safe, then you can visit Facebook’s Safety Check page and type his / her name in the search area and click on “safe” button or if you are in the affected region and reading this you can access the page then you can click on “yes, let my friends know” so that your friends on facebook will be notified that you are in the affected area and are safe.

Please note that this feature is only for facebook uesrs. This should not be considered as full-proof confirmation as situations are constantly changing. for more you can contact emergency services as follows:-
